Living By The SEO

A few simple things we can do to stand out in a landscape of change

As tech moves at an exponential rate, we need to find the things that are certain, at least for the next 3 months. Algorithms change at the beat of a heart dictating the way we should lead business. This doesn’t seem to be a great way to exist. Constantly following.

So what’s the alternative? Every business relies on search, right? Even the anti-business businesses. So what is the hope that a new solution comes around? Perhaps it is off-grid, as it is in so many science fictions. The rebellion against tech, against the Cyborgs, against the Matrix, against the Synchronicity that we were so enthusiastic to develop.

It’s a dream, that we could go back to something human, natural, three dimensional. It would be going backward.

What does that look like in reality.
It simply isn’t a reality en masse. It’s a dream, that we could go back to something human, natural, three dimensional. It would be going backward.

The point is, right now in business, more than ever, we need to be found. We need to signpost where we are in a potentially competitive landscape.
The ever-changing criteria of Search Engine Optimisation is a thing to ideally keep up with. It’s common sense in a weird way, but it helps when someone tells you some honest SEO truths… like the other day…

For example..

  1. Complete your Google My Business Profile… and Yell… and Bing… and various other sites which can factor your business’ online footprint and have an impact on engagement.

  2. Ask people to review your company. Friends, family. Yes. Do it.

  3. Optimise the 10 most popular pages on your site. You’ll get even more engagement.

  4. Remove the broken links. This is something I’ve learnt the hard way.

  5. Keep active. A dormant site is a graveyard for SEO. We’ve been guilty of inaction.

Live by the SEO and you’ll see opportunities which might not come around without it.
Organic digital search. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
