A story. About work. No label.
Those labels you’ve been given. They’re a cage. I am not a label. I am not a designer only. A director solely. I am not just an art director, a creative director.
A few years ago I started to give myself permission to label myself with other things. Like ‘writer’, ‘entrepreneur’.
Thing is, labels are what holds us back. For years I was an art guy – I still am, but I have strings and a bow and I can play it in all different ways, positions, combinations.
Look at what your label says you are, choose to unlabel yourself.
I always hated labels as a kid. I had an irrational fear of them.
I still don’t like the feel of ribbon.
I know. Weird.
